Dear guest, this is a very personal guide to the places we love the most and visit regularly. You will find restaurants, places to have an aperitif or shop for local products. They are places that we would like to recommend you precisely because they are our favorite places!

The bus stop is just out of the entrance door, on the left (the blue pole): here you can find the updated timetable (to the 11/09/2024) of the bus connecting Bellagio to Lecco  and Lecco to Bellagio (Line number 10). You can buy tickets at Salvatore's bar or onboard.

If you want to reach Bellagio or Lecco by boat or if you want to plan a trip by boat on the lake, you can see the timetables and buy the tickets on this website. The boat stop is 5 minutes on foot from the house (go left when you exit the door).

BE CAREFUL: the public service ends in the late afternoon, so plan your trip to be able to come back home!

BOAT RENTALS:

  • TAXI LAKE (Frazione Pare, 67 - Valmadrera - out of the second tunnel make the roundabout and go back: take the road next to the tunnel): a good boat rental that can be driven without a license. They also offer taxi boat services and organized tours on a beautiful speedboat. The speedboat used for the tours can accommodate up to 11 passengers. Find much more information on the website.
  • BOAT2GO (Via Montello - Oliveto Lario - Fraz. Vassena): rental of motor boats, kayaks and paddle boards. There is the possibility to book your rental vehicle online.

BIKE RENTALS:

  • Bike it! Bellagio (Via Valassina, 103 - Bellagio): bike rental with well-maintained bicycles in Bellagio: ideal if you want to leave for a tour to discover the mountains above Bellagio, get to the Ghisallo Pass Bicycle Museum or tackle the famous "Muro di Sormano". they also organize guided tours and it is possible, on request, to rent the bicycle for several days and have it delivered directly to your rented house.
  • Lake Como Bike (Lungolario Cadorna, 4 - Lecco): one of the best bike rentals in the area. The staff is very kind and is available to satisfy your every request. The lakefront of Lecco is the ideal starting point to take the beautiful Adda Cycle Route, a pedestrian and cycle path that runs along the banks of the Adda river . They also organize bike tours!   • Al Quattro (Piazza Cermenati - Lecco): A new place where cocktails are made with care and the aperitif is always accompanied by something good to eat. At the Quattro you can also eat excellent sea fish sandwiches and poke. The ingredients are always fresh and of excellent quality. The owners also manage "Il Caffè", a few meters away: it is likely that we will meet there, as it is our second home in the city!​​

  • Andreawine Bellagio (Salita Mella 15, Bellagio): Andrea runs his wine shop with passion. Here you can choose your bottle of wine from an accurate selection of wineries made by Andrea. On his website, you can also book one of the tastings proposed by Andrea.

  • Cavaturacciolo - (Salita Genazzini, 3 - Bellagio): a now historic cellar in the center of Bellagio: Norberto and Rosalba will guide you through a journey of taste with the best Italian and foreign wines accompanied by excellent cold cuts and cheeses. Possibility to have dinner or lunch in the restaurant or to buy wines and spirits.

EATING

  • Ittiturismo Mella (Piazza San Giovanni battista, 6 - Bellagio):  if you want to try the best lake fish, this is the place to do it. The owner is a fisherman and cooks what he catches in the lake. The fish is always fresh and cooked respecting the local tradition.

  • IN ONNO! - Da Salvatore - pizzeria e caffetteria  (Via Garibaldi, 91 - Onno): Salvatore prepares an excellent pizza with high quality dough and ingredients. It is also possible to take take-away pizza. It is advisable to book because table seating is limited.

  • IN ONNO! - Hungry Bull (Via Garibaldi, 101 - Onno): restaurant with excellent burgers and steak houses in Onno, a few minutes walk from the house.

  • Soqquadro (Piazza Era - Lecco): when we want to eat a really good pizza, we book a place at the Soqquadro. This restaurant is located in Lecco, in a beautiful square overlooking the river. In 2023 the Soqquadro opened a new restaurant on Malgrate lakefront. â€‹â€‹

  • dispensa63 (salita Cavour, 15 - Bellagio): in the center of Bellagio, an interesting project by chef Baba. A refined but informal restaurant with very few tables and open kitchen. To try!

  • Al Molo 5 (Piazza Conciliazione - Vassena): a beautiful restaurant just a few minutes' drive from home. Directly overlooking the lake, in the characteristic village of Vassena.
​​
  • Al Prato (Piazza del Prato, 6 - Varenna): if you are in Varenna for a day on the lake, we advise you to stop for dinner at the "Al Prato" restaurant: a fine cuisine in the heart of the wonderful town of Varenna.

  • Bar Tabacchi Onno da Salvatore: from breakfast to aperitif, from sandwiches to pizzas. At Salvatore's you can find everything: an excellent bar, a newsstand, tobacconists and sandwiches, wraps and pizzas for a quick lunch or dinner. It is also possible to buy excellent wines and typical products from Sicily! He also sells bus tickets.

  • Onnolulu: bar that sells basics like bread, milk chees, cold cuts, ecc... Exit the door, go left for 5 minutes on foot.

  • Da Pino non solo pane: very small small supermarket in Oliveto Lario: direction Bellagio, 3 minutes by car.

  • ALVA market ( Via provinciale, 99 - Ballabio): in a valley not far from Lecco, the Valsassina, along the main road, there is this shop that sells all kinds of typical products of the area.
